By the way Cyril, CC is the Caravan Club, and C&CC is the Camping and Caravanning Club - two quite separate organisations! The latter has been a good investment as far as I'm concerned - every one of their sites we've been on has been brilliant.
You dont get anything exciting free if you introduce new members, we got a badge saying 'recruiter' - errr don't think I will be wearing that! We also got a £5 voucher off a nights camping so that was ok.
Great club tho, mags are great to read as not many camping mags about!
ok...well if anyone wants the "exciting badge" and ....wow...five pounds off a nights camping...let me know - I will be joining in time for next season...

i thought the site would benefit like when we click the ads type of thingy, from what people say you make back by joining is enough
We were members for 2 years but didn't feel the "club" benefits to be of value (some savings were worthwhile). Found the tone of the magizine snooty and only interested in caravans. Tried to book on some sites and found folding campers weren't accepted!
- it was the CARAVAN CLUB we were in, which my parents had bought us membership of as a present - now the CC were the snooty lot who didn't quite get the idea of trailer tents/folding campers!
But then again, I'm sure we don't get the ludicrous storage fees most caravanners spend money on!!
We have had a TT and now a Folding Camper and have never had a problem like being refused a pitch on any Caravan Club site. Frame tents are only accepted on a couple of sites but basically if you have wheels you are more than welcome. At least you can drive round and choose your own pitch, unlike the CCC sites where you have to pitch where you are taken to, usually at the far end of the site if you are under canvas of any type. I would prefer to see more canvas on the CC sites but they do not segregate Caravans like the CCC did when I was e member a few years ago.

Ray.
We've stayed on six C&CC sites this year and in all cases the tents were not segregated. They were, however, on the level areas of the campsites.
On three of the sites, our caravan was in between two tents.
All of these clubs do have a bias towards the retired camper and not really for the family, also towards caravans and motorhomes. Whether that is a good thing or bad thing depends on your age and set up really....
Pleased to hear that Anne, seems they have got that sorted in the past year or two. Did you choose your pitch or were you shown to it? I think it is nice to be able to pitch where you want to on any site, ie not under trees, facing the sun, near the toilet block, away from the toilet block. We all have our own ideas of the best pitch
