Years ago even though I had passed my test, I could never reverse an articulated vehicle as I had spent too many years on rigid vehicles, . An old hand took pity on me after watching my antics and told to me his secret.
He said "put your right hand on the the steering wheel in the 6 position. Move it very slightly in the direction you want the trailer to go and begin to reverse, once the trailer begins to turn bring the vehicle round to the straight position, most important is to go slow but always keep it moving making minor corrections, If you stop you will lose it".
From that day on I never had a problem reversing anything including my little FC.

Hi,

Plenty of good advice from other posters. As well as practicing reversing may i suggest practice the actual towing before hand, if you get the chance that is.  It can be quite daunting if your first experiences are with a long trip.

If you can practice on short trips taking in hills, roundabouts and junctions etc you will get to know how it feels and responds (especially under braking). this practice will give you confidence for when you do go away with it.

good luck and happy camping

Hi Good luck with the TT, all sound advice so far.

BUT I have a feeling that towing mirrors maybe a legal requirement!

Good Luck & Enjoy

Don't forget to inform your insurance company that your fitting a towbar as some class a towbar as a modification.
You may not be insured if you don't!
