Katie.... (in my opinion) for buyers I think that EVIL bay is best avoided or treated with extreme caution.  Things often go for overinflated prices... you often do better with your own local ads where at least it is easier to view the article.  You really do need to view the article before bidding.....

Others will shriek me down.. but EVIL Bay I think is in reality just as hazardous possibly more so then your ordinary classifieds .... so why bother???

I`ve been having a look around for you, theres a few trailer tents on preloved, prices around £400.

If you had £600 someone in Wigan is sellling a 6 berth american, hard top folding camper. It`s on adtrader.

keep saving, you will find one.

Have got some first rate bargains using classifieds and things like Trade it and Loot.

Just a suggestion have you tried Preloved or the ads on here...

Hi Katie,

I agree with Tentpegjenny, personally i can't warn you enough about E bay and how too many people i know have ended up paying more than the object was worth because they fell into a bidding frenzy or when they went to collect after having to part with cash by paypal found thier puchase was'nt quite like was advertised. There's also a bit of fraud starting to creep into E bay and stolen property too (see earlier posts in this forum)! So if you Do "E buy" try to get a look at it before your final bid and always be prepared to walk away .

Don't despair about your lack of success, i can empathise with your frustration having pursued many things on e bay myself only to be outbid in the closing seconds (Did you know there are professional e bay traders out there who make a living at it?). Be patient and the right unit will come along for you, Our money's hard earned and easily lost. Keep an eye in the local papers and free papers ( yes some that are advertised are rubbish but some are absolute diamonds -you've just got to sort the wheat from the chaff) also newsagents windows and supermarket noticeboards. Had you also considered placing a want-ad? Many people have things that others are wanting sitting in their garage and they can't be bothered to advertise them. Check out the local auction houses too, both household and car auctions - you'd be surprised at what turns up!

Don't get frustrated with the playground gossips either - it was like that for us too - they may have had a fortnight in Ma"jerk"a / Disney Bland /Torrema-whats-its-name, but that has to last them all year and was probably bought on tick. With your camper you be having 3-4 holidays a year for their one, then watch thier faces when you say your going away on holiday again.

Bought our TT off e-bay after missing out on a couple.

Starting price was £80 - Buy it now at £120 was only listed for 10 mins and I offered the full price, turned out it was only 3 miles from where I work.

Have had five week-ends and a two and a half week holiday in france - total 28 nights this year. We pick the kids up from school on a Friday and go for two nights (pick a site 1 - 2 hours from home) takes about 1 hour to set up ready to eat (fish and chips) and go to bed.

Something good will turn up.
