in the uk this is a no-no (70mph) - not that the speed cameras will ever catch you on main roads.... But in europe the speed limit is higher and trust me - with the right tow car 70+ is safe but in uk stick to 6o on 'm' and dual carridgeway roads just to be sure you do not fall foul of the law enough said i think......

Used to have a Shogun, towed everything very well, but no fun solo and it fell foul of increasing fuel prices and tax hikes, plus I disliked the lack of ABS.

Changed to a Xsara 2.0 HDI auto with cruise control, much more economic, more fun solo, and very relaxing on long stretches with cruise control on. Useful in low speed limits too - can concentrate on the road ahead instead of watching speedo.

But my old Jazz towed very well, handled the Combi with ease and also did well with a heavy Cardinal FC, amd my new Ibiza has had a go with a 2 berth caravan which was good.

We use our Mitsubishi Space Runner - for those not familiar with this model - it looks like a Space Wagon, but only has the standard 5 seats, but has a huge hatch-back boot space, ideal for luggage etc. We had tow-bar fitted originally to tow our box trailer for putting bikes stuff in and also trips to the tip at weekends. However, now we have our TT, it will be used for that too.
