I'm considering options to extend the camping season and am interested to find out more about Combi Camps. I can't seem to find much info on the internet and the official site doesn't show the various models available.

How easy are they to put up and tow?, I need something that I can erect on my own and am looking to buy a secondhand one, what mod

HI............... if you are looking for an  easy to erect TT, the CC might be just the perfect one for you, it is  easy to tow, handle and to setup,--- but it does not include the new Venezia, its a heavy, clumsy thing, and certainly not  a model for a lonely woman, as you wrote in your mail to me. The weight of the Cc has increased over the years, from som 190 kilo,to 220,230, 240,257, 275,290,300, 330, 350, 400. Years ago CC had a slogan,, I am ready in 15 sec., and that is almost correct, though, adding the awning, not included. Last week I shot some 25 min. videofilm,,, How to erect  the combi, with the awning, in less than 30 min. and done only by one person............. Show me a tent trailer, that can be fully erected, with awning, in less than or just a little bit over 30 min.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. well I don't know many of the TT's that you have in uk, they are seen at my homepage, and most of them looks non handy to me. Questions abouth CC's i uk, is difficult for me, I think I have diskovered, that the models have different names than here , so photos please. I shall try to send you scanned photos from sales old sales material. Some 5-6 years ago, COMANCHE, had a model much similar to the CC that opens up to the side, if they are in uk , you can also look for that model, the new Comanches are just as clumsy as the CC Venezia.

 welcome back,,,, best of luck,,,,,,,,,,,henning

Thanks Henning

I think the plate on the Venezia said weight was 750kg. Is that fairly heavy then?, it seemed fairly easy to push around, but I have to admit I have never towed a thing in my life before, so am going to have to have a few lessons I think. I was a little surprised at the weight, the Cruiser I looked at was only 150 kg heavier.

hello there have been reading all the letters re combi-camp and the venezia, well we have one, and its the best trailer tent we have ever had, we don'tt find it heavy, and we are both sixty, it is so comfortable, easy to put up,and take down, we were down in cornwall in june with all those gale force winds, it never budged, also we were down there again with all that heavy rain, kept us nice and dry and cosy, yes it is expensive, but you get what you pay for and we feel it was money well spent, hubby likes the awning poles that just slide out, no fiddling around to hook them up, no heavy kitchen to move around, it stays attached to the unit. i would highly recommend one to anyone

happy camping

Hi Kelling, thanks for that info, I am very tempted by the Venezia I must admit. The only problem is the sleeping accomadation, whilst I will often be camping alone with the dog I do take one of my sisters and her children at least once a year and the Venezia is not really big enough. I would probably have to try and get the bedroom extension but it's unlikely I will find one secondhand.

How do you find the awning to put up, as Bandit Gray says do you find you need two people.

hello there about the awning, a man could put it up on his own, not sure if a woman could, i'venever tried, although it isquite easy. we never take the awningoff, we just fold it back over the roof of the tent and it all folds in as it goes down, the poles just slide out, and you fix the 2 legs on, and then  2 bars across the middle, then pull the awning over, zip on the sides and front and there you have it. we have a annex bedroom that came with the tent but we hav'nt used it yet, also ours came with the king size bed, which is very comfortable, hope this helps
