Kikijon, many thanks for the pictures in your gallery.
Seeing them gave me the assurance that it would work for us and I ordered a universal annexe from CampingStuff4U yesterday and it arrived today, less than £100 delivered. My teenage son is delighted that he does't have to share a 'pod' with his younger sister any longer.
A friend told me that the the horizontal bar we we needed is a caravanning item known as a veranda bar/pole, you can see a couple here.
