Well, talking of sad, lol!!! I am joining in this thread because I WANT A NEW GREEN PATHFINDER!!!! Theres no chance of me ever getting one, but dreaming costs nowt and I can get pleasure from reading other people enjoying theirs, lol! Yesterday I went to Barrons at Darlo to see what they had (had a spare day off...) and they had lots of second hand campers too. I spent ages going round them all and having a great time. I did want a Fiesta but the kids have grown in length and I dont think they'd fit in it anymore...And i prefer green.

One question, how easy are they to fold up with the toilet block etc? I have seen lots of promo photos, but no actual 'action shots' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would I be able to do everything by myself? (female 37, strong...single but open to offers) Are they easy to drive???

Cheers! Queeny :-)

Yes, Queeny. No problem at all. They are very easy to put up and pack down. It is only the awning that really needs as secon pair of hands.

So having confirmed that the new Pathfinder is an acceptable colour (and it's a lovely colour!) we decided to check if it would fit in the garage and ... (drum roll!!) ... it'll go through the garage door with about 6-7 inches to spare.  The only difficulty is perhaps the length, but OH has an idea - make a hole in the end of the garage (it's made of concrete panels), then put the unit in draw-bar first and poke the hitch out of the hole.  He's come up with idea for a large metal plate he can make up at work that will bolt around the draw-bar, outside the garage but behind the hitch, so that getting the thing out without the padlock keys would entail pulling the garage wall down!  He does have his uses.

Scampi- glad you are sure you know what you want now & can fit it in your garage(ish) Hope you get a good deal when the time comes-(when is the show at the NEC) & get loads of use out of your Pathfinder!!! Been thinking since being off work-how there is such a pile of Bobbins TV programmes about- all this "get me out of here I'm a washed up x pop factor frightened wife swapping relocating changing room gardener in the jungle". And not one measly 1/2 hour of camping/carravanning/outdoors sort of thing !! There must be a channel-UK Living/People or something that can spare us a little programme once a week (through winter at least) to keep us from "cold turkey".  Just look on the various threads, loads of people missing their camping & they've only stopped last week!!I am sure it would get a reasonable audience even on "proper" telly-after all how many people must go out camping-Sites are full almost all season? Anyway I'm off to try & find something to accompany my bottles of "Old Peculier" on the telly-probably reruns of Pole to Pole or something- Bye Folks!!!!!!!

Junezhubby, try Granada Men and Motors - every now and again we come across a camping/caravanning programme which is quite good - might be on a sunday afternoon. Sorry, can't remember what it's called (shame on me!)

Scampie-just to let you no that we have now ordered our new pullman from JR camping leicester, they had a great winter deal and we just couldn't wait for earls court.

They do have a stand at earls court & the NEC, Although they had not been told what the show offer was as they were still premoting the winter deal. The great  thing is though,If the show offer is better than the winter deal they are still gonna do it for the better price, so i think we have the best of both.

 A happy little bunny

Well done Mamacamp - it's great that you got to order your Pullman at a good price.  We are happy to wait for the show deal though, as we definitely won't be using it before March (OH says April, but ....!!) and he is getting a new car, so it is actually better for us to get one early next year, rather than have the 'wrong' number plate put on a trailer that will just sit in the garage anyway.  I can still entertain myself over winter by buying all the kit we will need and drooling over the Pennine catalogue, safe in the knowledge that I will soon have my sticky, excited little mitts on a Pathfinder!!

Mamacamp -That is pretty sad     -      but I think I can do better !! We are having to alter the front garden so that we can put our camper up to dry if it is wet when we pack up-so I've done a scale drawing & made a paper shape of the car & camper to make sure we will have enough room .This (according to June ) is INCREDIBLY sad-pushing (or should I say driving -with brrm-brrm noises  ), bits of paper around on a drawing !!! Still - when my collar bone is better we may still be able to get a weekend awa y before the years out -(I hope) or this sadness will get progressively worse  !!

Yours (sadder & sadder as time goes on), Bernard....

My OH actually suggested measuring our back street (where the garage is), and doing a plan on AutoCad to see how much room for manouver there will be for our Pathfinder - is that sadder than paper cut-outs?

Happy camping (ps - Earl's Court on Thursday!!!)
