We bought ex display 2009 model combi camp valley this time last year for £7000. We also leave the awning roof permanently attached and can concur that it only takes about 20 mins to erect with the awning.

We went for 2 berth option which gives us 8ft X 5ft bed. You can also store additional equipment on top of the bed up to the height of the trailer so you can get more storage ontop of the bed than under it, we use folded tarpaulin to keep both the canvas and matress clean. Just have to make sure that you leave a gap all around  the edge for the folding frame to go into.

Ours is blue and white so trying to keep white the canvas clean is a pain when packing up in the rain, another reason to keep the awning roof attached, easier to handle the individual side and front panels. It is well engineered the main units frame is sprung so that there is some give in very strong winds.

Regards

Thanks for the tip about storing stuff on top of the beds, as ours hasn't got underbed storage.

I was in a flap about the musty smelling matresses. Last night I decided to unpick the stitching on one of the covers so that I could wash it & change the foam, and hey presto, I found that covers had zips (very small ones, almost hidden amongst the courdroy cover), so the covers are now washed. The musty smell seemed to be coming more from the covers than from the foam, so I've used anti-bac Frebreze & sprayed the foams all over.

Cleaned all the solid parts inside the main unit today & left the windows unzipped, and the fusty smell has gone. I'm feeling a little more upbeat about it now. I've fitted the insulation around the sides of the bed section.

I did find a problem with the windows - used the spray stuff which you clean soft top car windows with. It removed a lot of dirt, but not the streaks down the windows - I think the previous owner let Fabsil run down the windows, and it just won't shift.
