agree lobey, but no point referring to the op as they have not bothered to come back after the first post.
as said many times you book as whatever gets you on the site,if caravans only you are a convertible caravan or folding caravan or pop top.if tents only you are a trailer tent.

Hi Sunshine Tours, No, we have decided that although we have found ourselves in the position where we could sell the FC and buy a decent motorcaravan, there is really nothing on the market that would give us the layout that we require for the finance that we have.
We were hoping to return to the type of camping that we enjoyed when we used to have a motorcaravan, IE, touring and one night stopovers.

However, as we are keeping the FC, we will possibly get ourselves a bigger, more comfortable, car and just go to an area, set up the FC and stay for a week or so on the one site.

We did look into getting a caravan, but where we would be storing it, where we presently store the FC, the access is restricted and any trailer longer than the FC would not get around the bends.

Such is life!

The main thing is that the FC is just such a darned good unit which has thoroughly spoiled us and now that we could afford to buy somthing better, there isn't anything.

We have what the Americans call a Pop Up. This unit is basically a folding tent unit with solid roof and tent-bed ends. It also has a full kitchen, dinette and a toilet (Thetford C4 unit). When we need it, we also have an awning area which is as large as the camper itself, half enclosed.. We have booked as a caravan or a camper trailer and never been refused on any grounds on any campsite. Our only "refusal" was from us, the campground was on terraces and I didn't want to sleep on a cliff (I don't sleepwalk but then again......)
