We have just returned from our first trip away in our new van..
Great time and now wondering why we didn't do it sooner.
We had a wet pack up today but even that was easy... Just took the awning down and put it in the front locker.. Now it's drying off in the garage.
Really pleased with our new toy and have booked today for 5 nights over New Years (secretly hoping for snow)
Good luck with your new van and post some photos.
I second that Lobey, on both counts, both of these were the final decider. But that is not to put down FCs, they are a great form of camping and we don't regret a minute of our ownership.

2016
February C&CC Theobalds Park
March C&CC Salisbury
May C&CC Adgestone IOW
July Le Clos Auroy, Auvergne France
August C&CC Polstead
August C&CC Oxford
October C&CC Lauder
We both started our camping many moons ago and ofcourse back then virtually all camping was "under canvas" and, for us, although our Pathfinder was luxury on wheels, it was also "under canvas" and I think this feeling was the biggest attraction of our FC.
Rain on canvas is just so much more pleasing than the its machine-gun effect on tin/perspex.
So in changing over we have lost and gained and only time and experience will tell by how much.
