Ok everyone going to hopefully collecting the camper tomorrow its a conway countryman 1994, I am meeting the sellers to have a look at it they are happy to put it up in a carpark. We're not breaking the bank to buy this so not expecting too much but what faults apart from the obvious spongy walls and floor should I look for when negotiating on price.
They say that sleep pods, awning are included in price along with lots of extras like groundsheets, fresh and waste water containers etc.

The main issue is likely to be mould spots on the canvas - it generally appears on the inner roof where steam from the cooker has collected above the roof liner - it can be treated with a dilute solution of milton to kill the spores but it probably won't remove the spots- you would probably need to reproof if you do this so I would factor in the cost of buying a load of Fabsil and a pump spray (£50) If you can live with it then it's a really good bargaining point.

Check the inner bed tents too they can sometimes get mould spots in the corners out of sight (treat with Dettol Mould and Mildew spray to remove the spots and then stick 'em in the washer).

Don't be put off by surface dirt inside as other peoples idea of clean might not be the same as yours - remember it's mostly hard surface and can all be cleaned up with lots of hot soapy water.

I reckon you shouldn't be paying more than £750 for one in A1 condition and about £500 for an average one, although you might be happy to pay a bit more for a private sale .

at 89angela - See you are from cheshire, we are too! could you reccomend anywhere local to try the camper when it gets a bit warmer?

Collected the camper today and we are all over the moon! it is a 95 countryman in really good condition and it has everything included with it 12v, 240 elecrics, underbed puptents, awning, electric pump and leisure battery. We paid 650 for it and judging by preloved and ebay prices that seemed a good price.
Everyone on here has been really helpful and I actually got the camper as a result of my wanted ad on this site. The couple who sold us the camper were really helpfull and a pleasure to do business with.

Hi - sounds like you got a great deal. I hope you enjoy it -  put some pics on when you get it up so we can all see.

I'm afraid I can't recommend anywhere local to try as I only ever go to t'seaside when I go away (may as well sit in my back garden as a field somewhere - but that's just me).

I believe Delamere Forest and the Fishpool sites are both good - both about 15 mins from me and I think Fron Farm near Mold has had some good reviews - that's probably about 30-40 mins but depends where in Cheshire you are. Have a look on the reviews on this site you can do a search of all the local ones and see what other folks think of them.

Will get some pics up tomorrow. Yes we also mainly go to seaside resorts when camping but are also looking to go more to the peak district now as areas with lots of walks always seem a bit more dog friendly.
I live near to sandbach so them sites you mentioned are quite close so I may have a run out there soon just to try the camper out.
