Small gaps between furniture is an established method within the caravan industry of ensuring that the manufacturing tolerances associated with hand built furniture and the possible slight variation in the interior body length are not compromised.

PaulDG asks; " do any of the high ups" at Pennine actually go on holiday in our products. Well Paul you will pleased to know that not only have the Directors been avid users since 1977 but it is also company policy to encourage employees to use the company camper whenever they can.

Your other comments and ideas have been noted, thanks.

never mind the knockers ,pennine make a superb product .i have a 92 pullman that is still going strong and although does not have the luxury of the bang up to date models ,with a bit of thought and quite a few d.i.y improvements does what its supposed to do ,give us cheap holidays .

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK PENNINE

I agree Black Fox - my 2001 Pathfinder is fabulous and I love it.  Built to last and I would struggle to find something more up to date that would compare with it

The DOOR  no one has mentioned the door. Maybe they are trying to give us a proper door like the Dandy as a secure door with a lock.Surely that would be an asset for all. If using only the main cabin without the awning it is more vulnerable. I know if they want to get in they will. But if it looks like an easy quick way in for a snatch surely a tea leaf  would use it.

Just a thought, I would like as door with a key lock. Can anyone design one that we could have done now? How about an artificial looking one after all they have security cameras that are fake, why not a Pennine FC door.

Our new Crusader does have a door lock just like our Caravan did!

So does our 99 Pathfinder. However you can unzip the upper section and unlock the doors from the inside so no real point unless the camper is folded down when obviously the lock is useful!

I also think its a great piece of kit

I love mine too and will do the adaptions we need though still think a bedside light and a cup holder would go down well for all those that like a book and brew in bed lol

TrailManor are the big american solid walls and tops campers ... amazing ... but over $30 grand ... I'm sure if Pennine had that budget they could come up with something pretty special too! Problem is the UK market wouldn't support it ... people on this site have moaned about Quartz prices!!
If you want incredibly good design and manufacture quality you should have a look at the australian Opera camper ... now that is class.
For the rest ... we are very fond of our 2006 Pullman, and of course there are drawbacks ... not many things in the world have been designed that don't, especially when finance governs what can be achieved.
Re the gap between benches and cupboards ... I find it quite useful ... store the Aquaroll tubes there and it's useful for cable overruns to tuck down into rather than sprawl all over the place.
Reading lights? ... I got a couple of clip on 40watt swivel jobs in Spain this year ... they clip onto the canvas frame poles and can be re-sited anywhere ... great job!
My only dislike was the folding wardrobe ... never found a good use for it, and it took up a lot of room when traveling ... I removed it this year, put a mosaic tiled surface on the little drawers unit, which now provides a much needed extra 'kitchen' surface ... and the inside looks so much roomier! Other big bonus is that I can load in the spare fridge and both inflatable kayaks ... has made car loading so much easier.
Have to agree that the sink unit and tap is a little on the flimsy side ... our tap leaked all over the place a couple of years ago ... but otherwise, for the money, I think Pennine did a very good job!

Pointless!!

If someone wants to get into a canvas tent then they only need a small knife and a few seconds (or just undo all the velcro/bungee fastenings around the camper), a full sized door will not do anything, apart from add weight to the FC. My fiesta has the half size door and it is lockable (never saw the point in it myself, apart from when travelling) and it never gets locked.

In my opinion if you put a full size, locked door, in front of someone who wants to get into your FC then you are asking for them to rip open your canvas, costing a lot of money to repair/replace. We just lock all of our valuables in the car, at least if the door is unlocked and someone wants to steal something they can just open the door and have a root around rather than causing a lot of damage (if they target your FC there is nothing you can do to stop them breaking in!).

Give a man a fish and he'll feed his family for a day.

Teach a man to fish and he'll sit around on a boat all day drinking beer!

There are two ziplocks on our Raclet on the same zip.  When both ends are 'located' and the two ziplocks (I'm not sure of the real terminology) pulled so they are together, a smallish padlock can be used to lock the zip as in a suitcase.   However, as has been said, if someone really wants to get in......

So, if someone wants to get in, not only will they easily do so (2 seconds work with a Stanley knife) but, just to find out that you've only kept your underwear in the cabin they'll have done 2 grand's worth of damage to your canvas.

Leave it unlocked!
