We were at Corfe Castle last week, not only was there a selection on F.Cs and T.T.s but at the end of the week there were 3 Dandy Destinys (including us)! (Edited to add) we're number 9 then!
10 and I am still not the only one on the campsite despitehaving spent the bankhol on a a really small, fairly basic, campsite. We were at Solway camping in Scotland near to Kirkcudbright, with other family in a tent too. The site is a C and CC CS site so could only take 5 hardstandings though we were in the tent field that could take around 10 units. When we arrived there there was already a pennine pullman pitched, so out of about 8 units, two were FCs!
come in no.11,went to newquay last august ,we stayed at the monkey tree holiday park and there must have been about 4 or 5 fcs on site. we are going back the first week of october, will see how many are there and let you know.
i ll be twelve only just gone back to pennine qaurtz 6 had the conway crusader 5 years ago sold it bought a caravan just sold that back to the fc fixed beds grandchildren to accomadate so better for us also not as imposing on the drive also had a mover fitted make life a lot easer
Well, we were at Channel View ( Beggars Roost ) at the begining of the month and there was one right next door to us ( it was my brother-in-law !), and last weekend we were at Stowford Farm and there were four there, and we passed four on the M5, and as we are hitting North Devon next weekend we will hope to see some more down there. Certainly there seem to be plenty down this way.
As previous owners of a Pennine Pathfinder, we always note folding campers on site. We look fondly at those towing whether in France of the UK. We loved our Peneeni! Artheritis took us to caravanning- why do I still feel the need to explain???
I have to say we noted a distinct lack of FCs this year, we were on the coast of France, last year and the year before we thought the lack offolding campers wasw down to us camping inland! What has happened? When we had one ourselves, they were jumping out of every hedge.
Owners of said Pennines, should you see an idiot woman, pointing and grinning - it's me, just smile!
I'll be no 14 - just back from 2 weeks on Shell Island - loads of FC's and TT's on there, some set up there all summer and the Dandy group over on the Harbour Side as usual.
Never yet been to a site without another tt of fc. I've even seen 5 Dandies, and that's all of them isn't it? Actually, was a bit jealous of the last one as we both packed up wet at the same time! Last time out there was a shiny new Olympe, made us look like the poor cousins. (again)
Pennine Pathfinder 2007. Went to the French Alps again this year in August (Saint Gervais and Lake Annecy) there were two Dandy's at the Annecy campsite (Ravoire) which I pointed out with glee to my wife as I'm an ex-Dandy man myself and a Pullman next door, but no other folding campers noticed. As usual in France we became an object of interest to the Dutch campers as they peered under the awning trying to guess 'caravan or trailer tent ?'
I think that makes me come in as number 15, sporting a Dandy Discovery!
We have been the only Folding Camper on some French campsites and the centre of attention on a few! We have also been one of a plethora of folders on others.
