Gosh...I'm by no means a Russian shot putter, but my warrior training must be paying off as I can move the crusader by myself and up the small incline of the drive, but it does take 2 of us to get it over the lip of the garage floor...maybe she was moving it around on the flat?

Blimey sounds like I've either becoming a weakling or I already have to much stuff inside ours. I expect your canvas is lighter and you don't have the 4 bars that hold the up uprights, and your awning and poles must be really light. My poles weigh a ton by themselves.

I did not want to answer this until I had double checked my own Pathfinder/Enduro Motor Mover, and today I did so and was proved correct in my assumption that the Drop Plate does indeed carry the Motor Mover assembly.

Whether these plates are attached to the chassis by High Tensile steel bolts or not, I do not know and you would have to ask a MM Fitter about that one, but the Motor Mover is most definitely clamped directly to the drop plates and these carry both the MM and the Cross actuating bar.

Mmmm......must be a different design of mounting plate then. That's maybe why they're so expensive!
My movers are mounted to the rear of the wheels due to the design of an FC chassis. The original brackets are on the chassis rails, then my own manufactured 18mm spacer bolted through the U clamp of the mover beam.
If I knew how to load photos on here, I'd put a pic up. (A picture's worth a thousand words)!

Most people seem to only use their motor movers at home to park their FCs, but I find I use the motor mover most often when I am on a site.

Moving the FC over gravel when I am siting it or into a decent position when hitching up, uses the mover a lot more than when I get it back to the garage.

Indeed it is a lot easier to level the FC on a ramp, using the mover than to do so using the car.

As for getting it off a muddy field, well that is when the mover comes into its own!!!

Having Replacements Knees and having already had one Heart Attack, if it wasn't for a motor mover, we would no longer be camping.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr, I'm well annoyed I can't afford these yet. I got stuck today, I had left some seats inside mine, had to move it to the bottom of driveway that part ok. Attached the camper to the winch so I could winch it back up, couldn't as need someone to operate winch whilst I steer the camper back up. Wife out. So annoying.
Can you buy slaves from eBay? Must be cheaper.

Our FC needs to go into a garage only slightly wider than itself that faces onto a narrow lane at the back of the house, with an uphill slope into it.

When we first bought it it nearly killed us to get it in by hand so a motor mover was fitted before it ever came out again.

I picked up a new Powrtouch Evolution at a reasonable price on ebay and fitted it myself. I contacted Powrtouch and when I provided them all the necessary measurements they made up the drop plates for me. They need to be very substantial as they carry the significant weight of the movers and also react the force of the drive wheels against the tyres. Don't consider making them yourself unless you really know what you're doing.

It's an absolute essential for our use of a large FC. We're the first house in the lane so block anyone else's access while we're manoeuvring. Having the mover means we can unhitch and get the camper into the garage reasonably quickly without either injuring ourselves or having a screaming match between us :)

The last time I had the FC outside the garage, there was two kids playing close by.

When it was time to put the FC back in, in a loud voice I said to the FC, "Right you, get back into that garage".

The two kids look at me and their jaws dropped as the FC, all by itself, started trundling towards the garage.
Once it was inside, the two of them haired off down the road, no doubt home to tell mummy about my "intelligent Trailer"!!!!

Ah the joys of a motor mover!
