W went from tent, to TT (Trigano Olympee) and have recently gone to a caravan. The tent was the most easy and practical, the TT whilst great ad spacious was a pain if you came away with it wet and I felt it restricted us using it. If however you have somewhere secure at On my way!, say if yu could access you back garden with it then not so muc of a problem. But the caravan is bliss, no setting up, doesn't matter whether its wet when you leave etc.
That's my own personal experience and everyone has their own views opinions, likes and dislikes, but just wanted to let you know my thoughts.
