Hi Lobey, some time ago you gave me info on the Sprintaway as I wanted to get a small multi use van. Although it was a great idea it was just too small for the other half. I did wonder when you moved on to a folding camper if it would be too much work, particularly after seeing the set up video. After much looking round and heart searching we got a pop top Trigano that has turned out to do the job well being good on fuel, more impervious to side winds and cosy in winter. I see from your picture of your garage that a low roof is not a necessity for storage so there will be no problem with your new choice. Yes, and thanks for the help and pictures you sent before

Hi John, Yes, when we first went for the FC, it was a case of remembering the fun we had had with our original Raclette TT and now that we were getting on a bit, the luxury of an onboard toilet. full cooker and a hot water tank, to name a few bits was a dream come true.

Unfortunately the term "getting on a bit" comes with hidden problems, IE health, or the lack of it and a large FC, while a doddle to erect and dismantle if I was 10 or 20 years younger, is just too much for us now that I have so many bits of titanium and ceramics that I no longer go for a health check but more of an MOT.

The Sprintaway, while a great concept proved to be more concept than build quality.
In the end we lost over £7000 in the 3 years we had it and I gather from speaking to others that we were lucky only to lose that.

I don't think there will ever be an affordable camping unit that will incorporate the best of all types of camping although in my opinion, the 5th wheeler comes closest. However until they are manufactured at a sensible price, they will remain the few on the ground and only affordable by Lottery Winners.

Yes Finley, we have bought a Bailey Ranger 470/4.

Another topic on UKCS put me onto Vaping with E-Cigs instead of smoking.
That was just over a year ago and the money we saved by me vaping instead of smoking has paid for the caravan.
