The reqirement is for either an audible or a visible warning.

Hi there, I have a 53 plate Zafira (1.8 Design), which gives an audible sound when towing & indicating.

You should always check after "hooking up" that all the lights are working before you set off. I believe the legal requirement is as stated earlier - that there is a warning when an indicator light fails. It can be either an audible warning  or a visible warning.

I no all my lights work, as you say bordercaz, we always check :-) just nothing audible. At least they work :-)
