Hi - I know it's supposed to be getting away!! - but has anyone bought a tv for their folding camper?  I would like a portable flat screen, with freeview, which will work on both 12v & 240v, screen size 15" or 17", would consider an integral dvd player.  Trouble is my other half robably won't come out with me unless I can offer most of the comforts of home! a tv would help.  any ideas on what i shaould buy?

We bought this one, from Argos - and it's fab!

Flat screen, so nice and compact, with DVD. No freeview though. Sits on the unit by the door nicely with plenty of room for our lamp too!

If he's that bad it may also be worth getting Satellite to go with the TV. My OH is the same, if she can't watch the TV she'll have the hump all night. We picked up a satellite system form the Maplin website. It's specifically designed for camping as it runs off 12v and 240v. It comes with everything included, dish, receiver, remote. Took a little while to set up first time but after that it was minutes. I think for £99 it was worth it. We're thinking about going abroad next year so it will be invaluable then. I can see OH going two week without any soaps!!!

Been looking myself and it seems that you can buy a 15" or 17" flat screen tv for a reasonable price (£100) but if you want freeview built in the price rockets, suggest you buy a small freeview box the type that plugs into the back of the tv (approx £30) and a normal 15" flat screen tv it will work out much cheaper.

We did that when in a tent and found that we run out of spare sockets - just something else to think about

We bought one of these off e bay http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5232-2978-1/1?AID=9479574&PID=1428744&mpre=http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5232-2978-1/1?AID=9479574&PID=1428744&mpre=http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10-4-Portable-DVD-player-DIVX-MP3-Game-33-Freeview-TV_W0QQitemZ250115978605QQihZ015QQcategoryZ15055QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Ours hasn't got the swivel screen but exactly the same in every other way .  Well happy with it so far , although the supplied aerial is no good for freeview . I plugged it into our standard aerial at home and it picked up 109 channels ! . I won one on auction for £141 but bid on a few before winning . He does have some that say best offer and he was accepting £150 . Seen the exact same one's for sale at our local caravan / folding camper supplier for £295 ! .
