I'm a newbie to camping and am considering buying a Pennine Sterling Folding Camper.  I've read on a website that some campers can be stored on their side to save garage space.  Is this correct? If so, which makes/models? Thanks in advance.

Not (in my opinion ) the sterling. The smaller ones they makes bars for and for some trailer tents. It weighs so much I don't think you'd do it anyway. Good choice of unit though just chuck the rest of the garage out!

wouldn't want to try and lift our stirling onto its side - mind you it fits perfectly into the garage the rightway round - well got about a 2" clearance on each side.

Hi just got my camplet today and you can get bars that get fixed to the side so you can then store it on its side. I will have to purchase these as now the trailer is home it looks huge outside my garage and with everything else inside will not fit!

You can get bars/wheels to store the 4 berth Dandys on their sides.

A lot of TT`s can be stored on their sides. But not FCs. It`s basically just down to weight. Once and once only have Hubby and I put our Conway onto the side wheels....never agan. Our all-up weight is 420kg...that`s nearly nine hundred pounds. You ever tried lifting 450lbs? It`s not easy! (Though of course I`m just a mere short middle aged woman.)

And that`s just for a TT as I say...a FC can be up to twice that weight.

Ours is 820 - 1000 kg Val. Be easier to turn the garage on its side

Why not store it outside? Provided it is cover with a waterproof tarpaulin ( £20 from Screwfix) it will probably be better preserved than inside a garage - mice, spiders and dust.

our TT came with side storage bars, and it took two of us to do the job. it's just not worth it.
