Eleanor you can call Riva direct for the DVD ..Tel 01257 427221. It costs either £7.50, or £8.50, I can't remember which but I can tell you it's well worth it.  The principal is the same for all makes so it will surely help you.  It certainly helped me and now I can get mine erected in around 10mins.

If you have a laptop you can try erecting it as you play DVD and pause it as you erect.

Good Luck

We bought our first Dandy in 1990  .....it was an orange one [circa about 1980,I think]  .......We toured all over England with it [towing with a 600cc Citroen 2CV for many years] ..........we sold it at the begining of this year and bought a pale blue one [circa 1994,I think].

We would'nt have bought anything else  ...they're the best

the two short poles that you mention , what i do with mine is when the awning is up there are two pieces of pvc that pull inside of the awning to cover the front of the underbed space ,there is a slot to slide these poles into so they dont crumple up and then you fasten the bungees to the bobbles just either side of the door, the poles are slightly different length . if you put them in from the bottom of the pvc they stand on the the floor and give a little bit of support cant remember which one fits witch if you try you will soon sus out the right one, although our first meet with ukcs was at lickhill manor a couple of years ago and our 1986 dandy was new to us and we had a struggle putting up the awning we didnt realise untill we got back and saw a post relating to us which said something like "[ did you see those poor people who struggled with the dandy didnt have the heart to go and tell them the awning was inside out}, "  ah now we know what the problem was been plain sailing since then. We sold this dandy to a friend but have just bought it back from them because we missed it so much we have got a pennine fiesta as well but i dont think its going to get used much now we got the dandy back

HI All,

I have spent the last half an hour reading some of the reviews on how to put up a dandy and i have  had a good laugh on some of the things that go on.  i will be a proud owner on the 7th August and hope to have a lot of fun. And reading about the dandy club has made me want to become a member as the peope seem so friendly.

Eleanor, Go to the files section in the DandyOwnersClub website, open up the "Scans of factory instructions", then open the files you would like to print.  Right click on the page and from the list that appears choose "Print picture".

Also in the files section is a file called "Dandy Set Up Text" which is also very good and worth printing. To print this all you need to do is highlight the text then right click and choose "Print" from the list.

I hope you have lots of fun and enjoy your hols.
