Hi everyone, seeking advice! Up until now only camped on grass pitches but there is a site in italy we are looking at for 2008 which appears to have paved (assuming hardstanding/gravel) pitches.

Has anyone ever pitched on such surfaces with TT and if so what are the main points to beaware of?

Cheers......Paul.

Stayed on a hardstanding pitch at Winchcombe last year. No problems just needed rock pegs to get through the hardcore. My wife prefers to pitch on grass and didnt like the hard surface although had it been very wet I doubt she would have minded the lack of mud! If you are camping with a TT you need to double check with the site that you will be able to peg it down as there are either the packed hardcore type of hardstanding pitch and the fully concreted / tarmac covered variety that would mak life very difficult.

Hope this helps

Mike
