Hi does anyone know where I can get a fluorescent camping light that will clip onto the trailer tent poles and plug into mains electric as well, thanks.
during a visit to our local Wilkinsons i spoted a lamp holder on a clip, complete with flex and plug, added a energy efficient light bulb, and for around £3 we have a nice light to use in the awning. inexpensive and effective

Let me know what you get in the end. I got some suncamp clip on lights that were very good but are like a bulkhead style. I was also wondering if there was a sort of clip on waterproof strip light slimline in design, but I havent found it yet.
i know its not the same but we recently bought the 24 led lights which take four aa batteries they last for well over 30 hours with one set and the leds last forever they do have clips or magnatic bits on them to attach them to the tent we had loads of comments from passing campers on our lights being the brightest in the campsite! they did not attract bugs thankfully i bought one off ebay for 6.99 then i found one in wilkinsons for 4.99 and yesterday grrrrrrr i found them in pound land! i also go the magnetic clip on lights from the petrol station the other day Small ones for 3.99 they are fantastic we left the little one on all night for the children and it was still going strong after three nights they are snall flat and light weight so easy to pack away/store and hopefully wont get broken
anyway enought of me waffling on if you still want a mains light look on ebay?

Hithanks for thethe help but I've found the perfect thing Patio Sun Parasol lighting. You can get a Globe set from Towsure for 19 quid and they just attach to the storm pole in the centre of the tent, they also run off 240 vault............
i have an inspection lamp as well ,i used a low wattage bulb as well (stops that nasty heat).
i rewired it with 6mtrs of flex and a switch this means we can switch it off or on from the "bedroom" rather than fumbling around to plug it in.
i also sewed a few more hooks into the awning roof lining so the cable is out of the way ,a hook simply attached to the lamp by a tie makes it hang horizontally rather than vertically.
it lights the complete awning up.
we have also fitted a net to the top 2ft of the "bedroom" door ,with the top of the door undone and the net in place the awning light gives enough light in the bedroom for all but reading.
if were not on leccy we have a camping gaz standard lamp (very rare) which sits on its heavy iron base ,if you have kids the lamp can be anchored firmly to the floor by tent pegs and is safe from most accidents.
we used it outside last year with the table and without fail passers bye asked where they could get one!
seems camping gaz didnt make many and spares are impossible to find it takes the old c400 cylinders but thats got around by using 2 c206?
luckily we have two the other will act as spares for the other.
why dont camping gaz re intoduce it ,i asked and they haden't even heard of it
