We've got a camplet royal, with additional awning and guest bedroom/annexe however with three kids they now want their own rooms, we've looked for additional bedroon annexe but unable to find anything, could someone advise as to whether the universal annexe is suitable for use with this trailer tent as heard conficting reviews about these annexe's .... Thanks in advance
I looked at this when I had a Camp-let Royal. I don't think the universal awnings will fit the main unit as they need to fix to a horizontal roof bar (like you'd get in a caravan awning). As the bars at the side of the camp-let are diagonal it certainly would not fit on the side of the integral awning.
I have not seen the structure of the additional awning but if this has a construction similar to a caravan awning then it could work.
can't answer your question, but i am looking to buy a camplet savannah, what do you think of these folding campers, as i now have a montana 6 tent we want to get something more easy to erect. Any ideas who stocks these.
Sorry but cant help you with your query, but perhaps some one can help me with ours? We have just returned from our first holiday with our new Camp-let Concorde. We bought it because of the ease of putting it up and away, we were told on the demonstration we made need to aire the mattress, but did not realise that this needs doing daily due to condensation between the mattress and fibre glass body of the trailer, which is a pain in the posteria if you will pardon the punn, and would probably not have spent so much money on a product with an inherent design fault built in! It would appear that the mattress needs to breathe between the 2 surfaces, either by the wooden slats at £119 per bed or some sort of material used on boats to ease if not eradicate this problem. As this is supposed to be the best trailer tent on the market why are the slats not fitted as standard? I am speaking to Camperlands who say they will offer a discount on the slats, but I feel it is the rsponsibility of the manufacturer to replace for no charge. So far they are blaming the weather and I told you so sir mentality. Any help and your experinece with is unit would be appreciated appreciated.
Derbys bloke, sorry to hear about your problems. If you use the "search" function, type in "condensation" & click on the Trailer Tent section you will find that this is something of a recurring theme.
...condensation is a bug bear with most if not all trailer tents/folding campers....when you buy new there are numerous "extras" one being the slats - maybe a way of keeping the basic cost down as you say it soon shoots up when you have to fork out 2 x £119 - same with combicamps but having had older ones with the condensation problems we decided to go for the slats and can recommend them - make the bed really comfy as well and even if there is a bit of the old condensation it doesn't linger as there is a gap between the mattress and the base and it sorts itself out....
Try IKEA, they do bed slats at 200cm x 70cm, 200 x 80 and 200 x 90 for £9.00, £10.00 and £12.00 respectively. So 4 of the 200 x 90 would seem to fit the beds of the Concorde at £48. 00. A bit cheaper than £238.00.
Not sure if this will help or not but works for me... It so happens that a Single continental quilt cover precisely fits the double bed of the Dandy... So this means all I do is turn the mattress over everyday.. As the sheet fitted no need to make the bed.
