they can be left inplace but we found when you put em down with them been push draws the inner tend to get trapped inthe folding poles and when you open it again you got nice new venterlations holes down the sides of the pods and the roof canopy snaps the bands.
we have a 2004 crusader, dont know if it is different on other years ,but cant see it , we leave the bed pods fastened at the back but unclipped at the front , the roof lining we leave clipped on at toilet end as far as transit poles then leave hanging down , curtains for bedrooms front and and bedroom window stay connected on wires , the side curtains leave on poles and lay flat on bed , we have never had a problem with these this way and cant see how they could get caught in the slides unless you were really clumsy
We always left everything up in our Crusader, bedroom tents, roof lining, curtains etc - there's no point in letting them down just to put them back up again. We do the same now with the Pathfinder. It's only if you have to wet-pack that you would need to dismantle anything.
