Hello I have seen a Pennine Fiesta for sale.

I have a Honda Civic 1600. Would this be ok to tow?

What are dimensions towing length width and height.

Are skirts from bed to floor outside easy to come by

most folding campers have maximum gross weights somewhere between 5 & 15 cwt and should fall within a 1600ccs towing ability . The manufacturers towing weight should be in the vehicle handbook. For caravans the commonly reccomended ratio for saafe towing is that the caravan should not exeed 80% of the cars weight. this can usually be slightly exeeded with a 'low trailer' such as a folding camper as there are less stability problems.

Just back from 9 nights in our Fiesta round Devon and Somerset - lots of hills. We tow with my Honda Jazz at the moment and it copes well so long as you are 'sensible'.

Hi David, when you say you are on the verge of bidding I take it you mean ebay? We also bought our Fiesta on ebay and you can get some great deals.

I have just looked there and the next folding camper coming up in a couple of hours is a 2004 Fiesta identical to the one I have just sold and looks in great condition. No:280138921328

When you think to buy this new would cost £6,500 - even their buy it now price is good.

You really have to go on your gut feeling when you see the camper.  My first instinct is a bit strange I suppose but I go on smell!  My camper still smelt new every time we unfolded it.  This told me that it had not seen a dog, or a cigarette and had not been put away with a damp canvas!

At this age of camper it will have seen very little use when you think about it. If someone had camped in it for 6 weeks a year (quite a lot really) it would only have been used for 24 weeks so you would expect it to look good really.

The Fiesta is classed as a 2+2 and we only used ours for the two of us and found it very spacious,  with 2 teenagers however you are really talking about 4 adults so may find it quite "cosy" in there!  There is always the possibility of an underbed tent and awning extension room if you want to spread out!

If you have the table set up inside the main camper there is really only one side of seating to the table as the other side is a foot locker and not at the right height for the table but this can be overcome by having the table in the awning where there is plenty of room.

The advantage of the Fiesta for us was that it fitted in our garage when not being used.

We had our camper for 18 months and were delighted with it, it withstood the heatwave of last summer and the wind and rain of this!  It didn't matter what was "thrown" at it!  The only reason we changed to a campervan was that we want to tour Scotland next year and would only be staying in each place for 2 or 3 nights and decided whilst the folding camper was nice and spacious is would get tedious putting it up and down every couple of days for a month!

If this is not the camper you are looking at, let me know which one it is and I will have a look at it to see if there is anything you should be asking the seller.

Hope I have been of some help and look forward to hearing from you

regards    Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for quick response. Unfortunately our budget can't stretch that far and coming down to earth we were bidding on the £360 pound old green one.

what price do you thinki would be fair for one this age, which looks Ok.

Older child flitted nest so mostly 2 adults and a 13 year old. Can you get skirts for these things. Oh, Pennine Pullmans and Conway seem bigger but expensive. Found  a Pullman 92 for  £1000, and a 85 ish for £750. There is an 'odd' one going for £400 in Blackburn but lack of info bothers me. I am surprised that the length of 4m for a Fiesta is same as Pullman where there appears more room in a Pullman.

So many questions, sorry and thanks for help   David. It is appreciated!!

Tyanks

I can't find the green one you were looking at - has it finished already?  If not let me know the number of it and I'll have a look.

I really have no experience of price or condition of the older models so may not be able to help you but I would say that if there are only going to be the 3 of you then you should have no problems as there are 2 good size double beds.

Are you hoping to store it in a garage or is this not a requirement?  I am not sure whether the other models are not wider than a standard garage?

I do not think I have seen a Pullman but do know that most other campers go the other way with the door on the side, giving them the option for a third made up bed in the living area making them 6 berth.

Its a mine field when you are first looking, and the more you look at the worse it gets!

Anyway, let me know the number if it is still on.

Cheers   Chris

Hi David, I got to the Fiesta with 45 seconds to go, did you buy it? and did it go as high as you thought it would?  It gives you some idea as to what you should be able to pick on e up for.

As far as I can see the Conway challenger and the Pennine Aztec look smaller than the Fiesta, but the challenger at 499 in staffordshire looks quite tidy.

As you were looking at Derbyshire and Staffordshire are you in the midlands?

Are you desperate to buy one today or is it not possible to see one thats got a few days to go on it and then you can arrange to go and view it if its not too far away?

Chris
