We're pretty new to all this here gubbins so if I'm about to ask an obvious question, so be it.

We've read the reviews on peeing in a bucket, so bought a proper bog with chemicals and stuff. We've got this tent to put it in too. Now it says it's also a shower tent.  What advise have people got for siting the toilet tent, how to have a shower without complaints from the neighbours (yes I know no showing off my well honed Welsh body, OK showing off and well honed may both have been exaggerations). We did buy one of them solar showers so get some hot water for the end of the day (doesn't it do well). Does it really matter that the water is draining in to the ground?

Any comments greatly appreciated, including loose weight you Welsh whale. :)

Hi

Site toilet  tent with door facing your unit that way you won't frighten the neighbors. If you have a window keep it covered when in use.   As for shower I would a Maplin car shower , Put your solar shower on top of you car heat up the water then put hot water in a bucket and use the car shower or heat a kettle of water and do the same.  For water going into ground you could end up with a very soggy toilet area, we use a cheap kiddie padding pool as shower base.  Works well folds up small.  Hope this helps.

My parents used a small paddling pool (as suggested by Oldham), and managed very nicely with it for 4 weeks every summer when they steward a C&CC Holiday Site.  If you are careful with your water usage and only use a bucket-full for your shower, you can empty the paddling pool back into the bucket when you've finished, so you can take the water to wherever the site-owner wants grey waste tipping.

I have 'modified' garden spray that holds about a gallon  of water by simply attaching a spray ataachement instead of the usual lance to the end of the tube.  one kettle full of boiling water and one kettleful of cold water gives a reasonable temperature and low water consumption & is sufficient to make one feel clean! I also use small paddling pool  & the contraption can be used in awning (with curtains closed!)
