Someone on this forum suggested using Pampers Bed Mats to prevent moisture from seeping into the bed boards of Folding Campers(for those of you without children, these are large square pads that are usually popped under a toddlers bedding whilst toilet training!).

I would like to confirm that these work like a DREAM. Previously we had to lift our mattresses each morning to air / dry out. However we have just spent 2 weeks away and though we checked each day, we had no problems at all. We did have to replace one of the mats after a week or so though as it could have been wrung out!

We just popped one underneath the mattress (so that it was between the mattress and the inner bedroom tent) at the top end, rougly underneath your main body sleeping area.

One less thing to worry about!!!!

Worked for us too!

Boots do a disposable bed mat for incontinence sufferers, similar size to Pampers but half the price. A pack of 10 is £2.99 so much better value.

Brilliant!  I'd been wondering what we could do with the leftover Pampers mats we have, from when our lad was learning to go through the night (and not one mistake, bless him  ) - now I have the answer.  Thanks Claire.

In 12 years of owning different type of folding campers and trailer tents , i can honestly say i have never had a problem with condensation under the matteress, we have a fitted sheet around our mattress , maybe that is reason ,
