Does anyone know if it is necessary to have the suspension of your car uplifted to accommodate towing a Folding Camper. We have purchased a Pennine Pullman which we will be picking up soon. Our car is a Ford Focus 1.8i Ghia Estate.

I know that when we had a Ford Sierra and were towing a Buccaneer Caribbean caravan the springs required some adjustment to enable safer towing, and it was quite a close match weight wise as well

Thanks,

Kim

Have you thought about Spring Assisters made by Grayston, we are getting them put on our Peugeot 406 for towing a Conway Crusader. We have been told they lift your suspension by an inch or so.  Their Website is www.springassisters.co.uk this may be of some use for you, as it gives a list of all cars they can be fitted to.

Interesting thread that I will read with interest. Our Renault Scenic seemed dangerously low down on it's shocks on our recent holiday - even with the boot completely empty. I have emailed springassisters for their advise.

Dear All,

Thanks for your thoughts on this one. I'm going to ask my mechanic what he thinks on the subject and come back to you all.

Kim
