Last year we bought a Camplet Savanna new which with a few accessories came to over £4000.00 .

I was very impressed with the quality and design but imagine my surprise when I went to warm my croisants up to find there was no grill on the cooker. Is this penny pinching or am I just a old grouch.

How about a thread on penny pinching. What has really irritated you? After all camping gear is not cheap.

How about this -

Having to pay extra for luxuries such as delivery, spare wheel and that real luxury of a number plate

Cant see why you should nave to pay for delivery when the unit you want is just sat there, gets on my nervers when you go to places like Currys order a tv, then the sales person tells you there will be a delivery charge, can i collect - YES, guess what no delivery charge.  So whats the difference

I look at TT, ask about the prices this is when they tell you about a delivery charge, so i in stuborn mood, tell them it will save me some fuel as wouldn't have to collect from there showroom, guess what, you still have to call to the shop to collect the TT that you have just paid 150.00 delivery, are they taking the urine....

A French / Dutch company decides they want to sell thier product in the UK, and we get the pleasure of paying for there fuel costs.

talking of penny pinching i bought some rock pegs for our latest trip and once we arrived at out site and began to put up the trailer tent found we could not get one normal peg in to the ground!

i thing pitching on asda car park woud have been easyer but anyway the rock pegs did go in but i only took 10 they cost me £3.50 or 35p each

needless to say we visited the onsite shop to find the prices very fair infact almost as cheep as out local bread 75p a loaf milk 47p a pint normal pegs 99p for 10 and guess what rock pegs 85p each or £8.50 for 10 thats a 50p profit on each one!

i was fumming .............didnt help that after buying 10 more and setting up the tent we opened the porta loo tent to find loads of rock pegs hidden inside

How about spending a few thousand on a TT and getting exactly the right amount of pegs (plastic) and a instruction book in Dutch.

re the camplet - I think its the Continental style - most units even caravans don't seem to have grills....must admit I miss one on my combi....
