Can anyone tell me if they have had to renew there elastic bands on the canvas which keep the windows / doors etc. open onced rolled up. I need a couple to be replaced but haven't figured out how to actually do it or what with???
I had to replace the ones on my 1996 Conway Countryman when I had it (4 years ago now). I got replacements from a camping shop somewhere but can't remember which it was now! Maybe Milletts or Caseys of Chester.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
Obviously not looking hard enough, were they difficult to replace because they look like they were originally hooped around the material then sewn on...cant do sewin'!!!!!
You can either get ones with bobbles that push through the canvas loops or thread them through the loops then back through themselves. Another way is to use thick round elastic (camping shops sell it for repairing fibreglass tent poles - it threads through the sections to hold them together) and just thread it through and tie a knot.

some of mine on the window parts were so perished that they had turned into a sort of sticky goo and bits of it are still stuck to the clear plastic.Any ideas for something safe to remove it?, im frightened to use anything which might interfere withe the waterproofing on the canvas when i put it down if it touches it.
