No news yet - we sent the letter to the credit card company just over a week ago and we havent heard anything - will have to chase them up this week - we sent it special delivery so know they recieved it.
We have found though that Camperlands in Manchester are a total rip off when it comes to prices for extras - Lichfield seem better but think we may have got a link to deal direct just not sure if so that should save us some moeny if the credit card company don't pay up!!!
Really looking forward to next years camping though
Trying to but my quick scanning over the previous posts i can't find your e-mail addres!!! he he - it has made me very reflective over the whole thing quickly scanning all the posts!
Ok - sorry to bring this around again - but just wanted everyone to know the credot card company have paid us for the cover, awning, skirts and leg winder thingy - thank goodness - so to anyone out there everin a similar position - always pay by credit card - even if you have cash - if it is an option! We didn't get them to pay for the damage to the door as we think we can live with it for now and would have needed to get someone in to quote and have no idea how to or rather who to ask. So that is that and a MASSIVE - THANK YOU -TO EVERYONES SUPPORT
wow that is fab news, brought tears to my eyes so glad to know you've got some where! hope you have some wounderful weather to enjoy your new camper in next year. I can't wait to here where you go on your first trip!
Its going to be a happy christmas for you then - well done for sticking it out and hooray for your results. it is really stressful all the hassle etc but you cmae out ok in the end.
ps. What damage does your door have? - it may be someone on here could giveyou advise /tips. we had damage to the inside skin of our door on our cardinal and managed to repair it ourself using advise from another member. post the details you never know.

If you purchased on a credit card then the goods belong to the company until you pay them.
If the goods are not delivered or unsatisfactory then you have the right to cancel the purchase or demand a refund.
The above is a very quick summary so if you are not entirely happy with the camper you have rights you can enforce. A good solicitor or CAB will advise or you can seek details online.
We were scammed by a Spanish Timeshare company and with time and effort got a full refund BECAUSE WE HAD PAID VIA A CREDIT CARD.
I see you posted on 16/10/07 "we paid the rest by credit card - we have contacted them and they said they can pursue on our behalf but no guarantees".
You have a lot of rights on this.
My understanding is, that is the time that they should have advised you 'cos they owned the goods, (provided they had paid the trader.) It is a credit sale. You would have owed them only when you accepted delivery in satisfactory condition.
You need professional advice if you want to pursue this but from what you have said your damaged unit is not worth £7K. For example we have our 05 Pullman for sale at around £5K with all the extras including a 12/240v tv.
The problem was that the company no longer exhists so i guess the only people we could claim from was the credit card company and thankfully they paid up - but because we weren't sure if they would we didn't put in a claim for the faulty door - but in hindsight we could have - however hindsight is such a wonderful thing!!! Thank goodness for credit cards because of we had paid cash !!!
And as you say the unit isn't worth the full market value anymore so we can't sell it and then go and buy another new one.

No, that's simply not true. The goods belong to you. As does your debt with the credit card company.
Quote: If the goods are not delivered or unsatisfactory then you have the right to cancel the purchase or demand a refund.
That is true - and your primary right there is against the seller of the goods. And yes, if you don't have any joy there, you have a right to pursue the same claim against the credit card company.
The goods don't belong to the credit card company though. Not ever. They are providing credit. This is not a "hire purchase" arrangement.
The critical difference is that if YOU'RE the one who defaults, it's not enough just to give the credit card company the goods back as it would have been with "hire purchase". You owe then the MONEY, not the GOODS.
