Have just bought a used 1998 Pullman. It's been very well looked after and all is well, except the water pump.
I filled up a water container and plugged on the Whale pump to the connection on the outside of the camper. The pump came on straight away and wouldn't stop. Pressing the pump rubber button inside the camper had no effect whatsoever.
Do I need to get under the camper and check out the switch, or is it something more basic/user error?
I'd check the switch first. Have you got a friendly camper/caravanner nearby with the same type of pump set up who would let you try their pump on your Pennine? That way you could see if it was the pump or the switch.
Good luck, sometimes these things are easy to trace and rectify and sometimes they take all winter!
Hi if it the switch on the floor , pull of the rubber dome and you can see the switch, it is basicaly a bit of spring steel that when touching makes the contact for pump to run and when up contact is broken so pump stops , just check that contacts are not touching all the time ,spring might be a bit tired and need pulling up to clear , hope this helps ,it is easier than it sounds ,when you have the rubber dome of you will see what i mean
I have the other side of the problem. I cannot get the water to work! I have an 1992 Pennine Pulman and when I bought it they said the water was hit and miss. Well its a miss now. They pump works and I have replaced the whale foot unit so guess its off to find a friendly electrician who doesn't mind getting under the unit to check the connections! Any other ideas gratefully appreciated
there is only one other component electrical wise to stop it working ,as you have changed footswitch and pump it can only be the whale connecter on the side of the unit where the pump clips in , assuming you have checked the fuses etc
