Hi

We have a Pennine Sterling 6 berth folding caravan.   Does anyone get their caravan serviced on a regular basis ?   If so what would the average cost be ?

Thanks

hi hagg,

its not really that hard to service it yourself, however if your thinking of getting the brakes and handbrake adjusted and your not too mechanically minded then a quick visit to somewhere like ATS or quickfit wouldnt go a miss.

to be honest theres not really much of a service other than a good visual check, and if its not broken dont try to fix it.

also if your not blowing any of your fuses and you cant smell any electrical burning its proberly safe to say the electrics are fine.

as for the gas, for the benifit of your own piece of mind then im sure any corgi gas fitter would be more than to happy to give it a check. failing that try contacting perth caravans in errol (just over the toll free bridge)

good luck

We've had ours done twice. Once we had a double electric point done and an external bbq point and the second time we needed the tap mended , The service element was about £100. We went back to Highbridge where we bought it.

Hi i've just been to Barrons (now "Discover") at Darlington to get a price for a service on my Sterling510 and they quoted me £150 for a service including parts.

i'm shopping around cos that's the same as a single axle caravan service price.

Does the caravan service cover damp as well ? we pay two thirds the cost of a caravan service but they don't check for damp. Isn't everything else the same as a caravan after all they don't do anything to the top of a caravan do they?

Try www.mobilecaravanengineers.co.uk

Just had mine serviced they did a gas pressure check as well and replaced the flexible gas hoses as part of the service.

It is worth it even just for peace of mind

I don't need it done again for 3 years

regards

John
