Do you think this is a good idea? We pick her up on Saturday which got me thinking about trying to get away at Easter, have found a few sites in Devon with availability. Never camped this early but figure the CC would be warmer than a tent (beds off ground etc) and we will have ehu and a heater. We are itching to get away and have a trail run.

Domaine du Verdon Castellane and Etoile d'Argens Frejus Aug
we picked our folding camper last FEB and couldn't wait to try her out. We ended up in the middle of Feb in a very empty field with some friends, they were in their 6 berth heated motorhome and us in our new unheated camper. it was very warm and cosy in bed, however the frost came down in the night and we had frost on the inside of the canvas where our breath had condensed and froze! Once the sun came out it was ok but we did sleep fully dressed to save having to get changed in the cold. the kids loved it. if you get hook up and heater don't see any problems.
We are heading down to Devon in our camper at Easter too...we went out in the middle of October last year and it was a little chilly with frost first thing but we were really snug and warm in bed and the days were gloriously sunny! Hoping for the same next weekend...would prefer frost to wind and rain!

I'd go but not too far as you will need to come back for things you have forgotten.
That is so true we bought our TT last august and decided on a weekend away the day after picking it up. Good idea but not having been camping in over three years decided to go close to home - good job as well as we forgot things such as lamp and tea luckily only 20 mins or so from home so off hubby went he got a phone call with a list of other things lol

Another option would be to have a "trial run" in your back garden this weekend - save on pitch fees and closer still to forgotten items!
Of course, it's always a good idea to go away in a Combi-Camp I went away several times last year, from mid-Feb to the end of October. As long as you have heating and lighting and plenty of warm clothes, you will be fine. We tend to take sleeping bags and a quilt , plus a few fleecy blankets because I hate to be cold at night. Try it and have a great time
