I am thinking of investing in a folding camper, if not this summer, then definitely next summer, however the problem I have is where to store it. I do not have a garage or any off road parking and wondered if anyone out there can give me any info. I know people store caravans at storage facilities but does the same apply to folding campers, and if so ,roughly how much do you pay ? I realise that different places charge differently but any rough guides would be appreciated. Thanks.
I used to store my folding camper on a storage site at the time about 4 yrs ago I was paying £150 a year.

Hi i am on the same boat i brought a folding camper and have no where to store it i pay £105 per quarter but this is for a storage facility with gold award for CaSSOA (Caravan storage site owners association) i am not sure if this expensive but it is the only facility in our area so have a bit of a monopoly i did enquire at a big yellow storage and they would have stored a trailer tent with side storage bars hope this is by the way my friend stores hers at a farm/storage some way from us and she pays £70 per quarter but no security as such Hope this is of some use samandbensmum
We stored our TT at a caravan storage place, just outside of Sc**thorpe, last year when we bought it. Cost £300 a year (we paid half that until Christmas. Other places ner by were £180 a year and £240. One had no spaces the other was too far away and would add travelling time on if going away for a weekend.
One bad point was we had to go and check it on a regular basis as it kept blowing over and meant hubby had to keep going to put it upright again. Main downside for us was that we realised after the first time of using we needed to dry it when wet (I know should have bought a Dandy before certain people mention this lol) and sorted out a way of getting it into our garden and decided that as we might have to do this on a regular basis it was pointless paying to store it else where.
We store ours where we used to store the caravan. We pay exactly the same. It is £240 under cover £180 outside. Ours is inside and if she comes home wet we can open her up to dry her.

Thanks for info everyone, as I thought ,prices seem to vary and ,like everything , you get what you pay for . All I need now is to find a suitable folding camper , mind you with how the Easter weekend was I think a boat, or sledge may be a better investment !
Outdoor storage charges are daylight robbery - Had you considered renting a garage to store it in? It can be cheaper if you know someone with a garage who does'nt have a car, like two elderly lady neighbours of mine who rent their garages out. Its attended storage and undercover away from the elements too. If they have a garage they may have a drive too which they might let you open up on to dry out if returning home wet. One word of caution though! if thinking about renting a garage to store it in be sure to check the width of camper against width of garage door APERTURE and overall internal legnth too allowing a couple of inches all round.
Daft it may seem but some garages in new houses are built subtly smaller than older counterparts. Our Sterling won't fit in ours although a small car will.
