could not agree more about the vendome. we love ours and room is never an issue. We bought our second hand from ebay and were not dissapointed. Out of interest elsie do you use the whole awning roof lining as i found it a pain and the cubicles small so i dont bother
------------- Oh am loving the tin tent after campaining against it..........I was wrong.
if its a used 1st trailer tent your after try a used conway clipper dl.the one with the kitchen.very easy to use as the awning is attached to the cabin. also very easy to tow.
Our 1st trailer tent was an old trigano - which was fabulous - also as was used came with lots of things - which add up if buying for the first time!!
We had that for 2 years and then last year went to camperlands for the Camplet, we have 2 kids 9/10 and a dog and find the camplet (letty) fine. I loved the trigano but I like the speed of the camplet, the main thing I miss from the trigano is the middle section, which you don't have with the camplet, its like an extra section again, still there will always be pros n cons, depends what you need and how much you want to spend. Camperlands do both, secondhand and new, lots of makes so you can see whats around and be sure its for you.
Go for a look at a Dandy. Rot proof, water proof just about bullet proof! Last for ever. Mine is 13 years old & shows little sign of its age. Check for rot in the steelwork, smell the thing. If it smells musty, walk away.
I looked at loads of canvas ones, they all had mildew somewhere. Dandys are PVC & so can be packed wet with no ill effects. The newer ones (90's onward) should have insulated roof & walls.
Will most certainly agree with all trigano vendome tt, they have endless space, storage, luxury and the look is lovely.
I'm not sure on which models you have researched into, but unfortunately we are selling ours due to family change, and only got to use it once, it's 2005 model.
This truly is a lovely tt and very good for families who like space and friends and family have space while children sleep.
If you haven't brought one yet pls take a look at my free ad on u.k campsite dated 22/4/2008.
Hope you soon find one and have some lovely adventures. trigano vendome tt
HI we also changed from using a tent to a trailer tent. we opted for the raclet solena. This is a 2 berth and is extremely light and easy to tow. It was so quick and easy to put up and use including the awning. It made doing overnight stops on long journeys abroad really easy as it was quick to put up and take down. you also have the added advantage of some storage space in the trailer and a ready made bed!

We have just bought our Allegra for exactly the same reason, plus an instant kitchen for the cuppa.
