we are thinking of investing a in an underbed tent but a good one.  Don't mind paying £50 if its good but don't want a cheap flimsy one really.  Any advice helpful.

Would you put something on the ground under the underbed tent?

Just don't go for the commonly availible SunnCamp ones, that cost about £25. I got one last year and after one use I took it back (to Argos) as unfit for purpose, as you could spit peas through it. Flimsy? You could see through it when it was up. Rubbish.

I do have one of the modern Conway ones from Pennine though and can recommend it totally. Yes £50 is painful, but you'll get a high quality, robust and draftproof inner for that.

thanks.  Yes may invest in one for now and then few months down the line get another.............. even for storage of our clothes etc.  do you put groundsheet under the whole lot and then wheel TT onto it? or 2 seperate groundsheets for the 2 underbeds? did you have to cut to size etc?

My Conway UBT has a tray type groundsheet. I've never put any thing under it and my boys thought it was fine

If the ground is really filthy I put down two sheets of scrap plastic, just a little bigger than the base of the undertent. If the ground is dry I don't bother.

As to draft skirts, is your TT not the type where the cabin canvas goes right down to the ground round the cabin? If so (and I think it is) then there are no additional draft skirts availible or required. Folding campers don't have this floor length canvas section so they do usually need popper on draft skirts, yup.

Got to ask though...surely the Stratos comes with one underbed tent as standard?

No nothing is standard always ways of them making more money from you.  The one we are picking up tomorrow is 2nd hand (2006).  We haven't used it yet so no idea about skirts etc.  Think will look for some plastic to put down anyway. thanks

all the stratos have bulit skirts so you'll just need a small pice of plastic or groundsheet under your underbed tent, have a look on ebay for a 2nd hand one have been a few on in the last few weeks and as it will be coverd you don't need to worry about what clour it is. Where are you getting your TT from?

Hiya

Get the cabanon ones if you can they are really good quality and the ground sheet is quite thick. Think i have posted you before on putting a cheap wickes tarpauline under the under bed tents cos if it is raining when you pack up you can just roll them up and go, the tarpauline can go in the fridge storage box if need be

Happy camping

Hi, picked up TT from Caseys (chester) yesterday.  Didn't buy the Cabanon underbeds in the end because they were nearly double the price of the Blue Diamond ones.  I asked and made sure that these were good and not poor quality like Ive heard the Sunncamp ones are.  they seem fine.

didn't go to well to start really, Caseys were way behind and we had our 2 kids in tow so was difficult.  our appointment to pick it up was 1.15 but never actually got seen until about 2.30ish.......... so bit of a wait, but anyway its home.  havent had a chance to have a play/open up etc because of the downpours today but so excited.  Bought table/heater/toilet/lights etc yesterday too so just got to sort out cooker/sleeping bags and bits.  Hope to use it for 3/4 nights in the May half term but lets see what the weather has in store first.

They made it look all so simple putting it up but im sure weve forgotten already and they didnt show the awning assembly so not sure about that.

Let you know soon lol

We brought all our stuff from Caseys too, didn't take our 3 yr old to pick it up tho (would av been a nightmare!)

It will soon come back to you when you put it up, lol

We brought Cabanon underbed tents, they are very good quality well worth the £50 and also sell for a good price afterwards if you sell it all!
