Hello, we have acquired an older Camplet GTE-unfortunately without a key and are having trouble opening the swingout kitchen section & the rest of the unit. We have the generic Camplet instructions but there's nothing on the locking mechanism.  We've tried drilling out the lock but haven't been very successful......Please if anyone has a diagram of how the unit unlocks or even better could let us see their Camplet trailer we'd be v grateful. We're in the Edinburgh area.

I went to a demonstration at outriggers shop in dunfermline and they had camplet traillers up for the weekend and when they demonstrated it they just unscrewed a knob and the kitchen swinged open don't know if yours is similar or they changed the door mechanism years ago.

Hi Jessie

We have a new Camplet, first you have to turn the key and then turn the Knob which on ours does take quite a lot of turning  also you cant take the key out of the lock until its back in the locked position so if you'res has a lock I cant see how you would get it open without a key. (hope that all makes sense)

I would get in touch with Camperlands, they are to soul agent for the UK

http://www.camperlands.co.uk/company/contact_us.htm

You will find them very helpful, if all else fails we are near Peebles

PS Welcome to UKcampsite, any thing you want to know just ask someone will always help

now yu have drilled it then its ruined,

you should have used a locksmith

you need to drll it out about 13mm, then all the lock tumblers will colapse, and you should be abl to open it with a big screwdriver

it only needs a 1/4 of a turn to the right
