We have a 2005 Pathfinder. I notice on the very last trip last season that the sink water funnel (the fixed plastic square drain that the removable sink unit drains into) was split. I have now purchased a new one from Pennine but I wanted to know what tools I would need to take with me on holiday to fix it? Its difficult to do it at home!!
Has anyone done this before and can you advise how to do it? Do I need a spanner or is it hand tightening? Will I need silicone round the plug?
make sure you take a stanley knife and some silicone when we took the old one out we cut the bottom half off and sealed it to the underside of the new one as they are very flimsey, hubby did it with me watching cannot remember what he used to remove it with he is at work, when he phones later will ask him.
our replacement cost us £10 from caseys
matsmum
asked hubby just need a screwdriver to remove old waste
Thanx everyone for the advice, it does sound like it might be a common problem. I did ask Pennine to replace it free of charge because the plastic is so thin its like a plastic bag. The new one I have just bought from them (£10) is much thicker.
Just a tip when you have replaced the part (as an ex-Pathfinder owner, who also cracked this piece!!) - be careful what you store in the basket in the cupboard under the sink ... if you look at where this basket goes when you slide it back in, guess what it's right under?!!!!!!

I never knew that!!!!
I didn't even know that the newer models of the Pathfinder had baskets underneath the sink...I am now suitably envious!
