I'm pretty proud that not only did I drive in France this year, but I also did my fair share of towing the tt whilst over there too!!!

We went to the C&CC show at the NEC, and outside there was an instructor showing all the aspects of towing and reversing.with hands on experience. It was very interesting and i learned a lot, it's a while ago now ,but i do believe it was free.

I have returned to towing after 29 years and thoroughly enjoy it. At the moment OH tows to the site and I tow home. Thats cos he's usless at navigation and I have to do it all but on way home I just reverse the route. Previously he towed there and back and I drove all the time we were away.
------------- Don't know where I'm going but will be happy when I get there.

I towed our Cabanon Saturn this year.
We only got it in June and I was really nervous, when we first pulled away I said to my husband "Wow, it just follows the car" which sounds stupid, but it really is that simple. I though I would have to take bends carefully etc, but it was fine..... Dreadful at reversing it, but then hubbie, Vonfluff is just as bad!!!
We do the hitching, unhitching between us.
Good luck.

I've towed a caravan down to Cornwall, from Yorkshire, with my husband navigating! I have also towed our trailer, full of tenting gear. I must add, this is with 2 boys bickering and fighting in the back of the car!! I find it really easy. The first time i towed the caravan, was to York a few years ago. We like to stay on small family run sites, and the owner came out and told me to keep the caravan hitched to park it. I just panicked! I told him that it was the first time i'd towed a caravan, and that i'd never reverse parked a cravan before. He gave me a lesson there and then! He just said that the simple rule is, take it slow and turn the steering wheel the opposite way to which way you want the caravan to go. He gave me 10 out of 10, and said in all the years that he's ran caravan sites, that was the best near on perfect parking he's ever seen, because i didn't rush the job! I was so proud, i think i told all the neighbours that i had reverse parked the caravan, with a little guidence from the owner of the site!!
My only problem with towing, is worrying if i took the wrong turning, and i can't find anywhere to turn the caravan round! But, as my hubby always tell me, you can never get lost, just as long as you have a good old (new!!) trusty map with you!!
Happy camping!! Good luck with towing!!
