Hi All

Can Anybody Give Me Advice ? Took Our Trigano FC Out For The  1st Time Over The Weekend And While Packing up I Noticed The Plastic Sheets Under The Mattresses Were Sopping Wet, They Were Dry When We Pitched So I Assume It Must Have Been Condensation.

We Had The Window Flaps Open All Day But Closed At Night As It Was A Bit Chilly

Would Be Greatfull Of Any Advice.

Cheers

Are the plastic sheets supposed to be there all the time or just for transit, or even juat packaging? (If it was a brand new TT.) My Conway has the mattresses directly on the bed boards (with a bit of inner as well of course) and I do know that sealing the bed boards with a waterproof varnish or similar dramatically increases the amount of condensation nder the mattresses. Or if your outer canvas was tapping against the bed boards while it was raining then  water can wick through the canvas and seep along the bed boards.

The other thing is to prop your mattresses up a tiny bit during the day. I shove a couple of tins under them when we go out for the day, just to let air circulate beneath them. Always a bit of a surprise if I get to bedtime before remembering to take them out though.

You should roll the plastic back rather than lie it under the mattresses. All that sweat has to go somewhere. Put it over the beds when packing up to protect it if it is raining when you next set up.

As Jan said these are the wet pack sheets. When you set up camp roll the plastic up and leave it on the outside of the bed area, when you pack up put the sheets over the beds and secure them with the straps to stop the beds getting wet from the canvas.

what we do is to insulate under the mattress using foam roll mats or cardboard, this reduces the condensation and then when we pack up the mattresses are proped up to allow air to circulate

Cheers guys

The fc was bought second hand but Was hardly used ( even the hob had never been lit ) The sheets are attached to the bed boards with the screws that secure the mattress straps so i think theyre supposed to stay there, I will roll them back next time and prop the mattresses up during the day (if i can get teenage son out of it ) and see if that works, I like the roll matt idea too, worth thinking about.

Many thanks

We've put a large old towel underneath ours, then we can take out and wash after using.
