Just taken our Stratos out for its first trip with two four years olds and we loved it.  We followed the instructions on this site to help us put it up and it still took just over 2 hours.  Taking it down also took a while, I took the pegs out, then the centre pole down and then the other two, it was hot work in the sun wrapping it up and getting ready to go.  I wondered if anyone out there has any tips on the best way of taking it down? 

Anyone thinking of buying, don't be put off, we were complete camping novices and once up, it was great to use.  I'm sure we'll speed up as we get familar with it!

We've had our stratos for 2 years now - whit week the first trip scheduled.

2 hours sounds about right for the first time - we have it down to 30 mins now; as long as my wonderful wife, 1) does as she is told, and 2) reads my mind when i need her to. No reals tips other than try not to peg out until everything is zipped up and erect (oo-er) first.

Our 4 and 2 year olds love it too.

Hi there, we are taking our Stratos out for the first time end of May for 4 nights.  Will rememer not to peg out too early.............. and learn to read my husbands mind and do as I'm told LOL (husbands laughing his head off here) no chance of that and he knows it lol.  I do the kids whilst he does the TT, I hope thats the way it will pan out anyway.  I hope that after our first attempt we can get it up in less than an hour........ means its ok to use for long weekends too, but if it takes hrs to set up may only use for 1/2 week breaks.

Does it take 2 to put up or can 1 manage?

Anymore tips most welcome.

Hi Just Mum -  I must say, much as I think our stratos is wonderful, it is a bit harder to put up than I had expected - no way is putting the awning on a one man job, I think you could end up damaging the zips etc if you tried to.... so perpare yourself for lending a helping hand!!   Takes us about an hour, fully pegged and sorted then a bit longer to do airbeds/furniture etc.  My tip would be to take a step of some sort, unless you are tall!   Enjoy

V. impressed with an hour!  Any tips you can pass on to save the odd hour??  I'd agree that the awning bit is defo a two man job until the poles are up and the front guy rope secured.  I like the step advice, my wife is 5ft and struggled with the tall bits! 

Nice 1 Pinky16  good advise, we went on our first trip a few weeks ago and took us about 2 hours 30 min.. even quicker pulling it down as the rain came and soaked every thing inside and out every thing was thrown on top of the TT, had it opend a bit the next day in the sun.. Just hoped it was enouth to dry her out..

Once up and sat outside with the red wine and the bbq going cant beat it .. love it..

Had a few people wanting to have a look as they had not seen anything like the cabaonon neptune.. Quite a looker i must say...
