Hi.

We just our Trigano TT out ready for another season and found some canvass eaten through and a bedroom pod completely destroyed by a mouse or mice that decided to overwinter in our tent.

Any ideas how to stop this happening again??

Anybody know where to get replacement bedroom pods for a Trigano Ocean TT.

Thanks

Niall

We store our TT in the garage and my biggest concern is the mice....firstly if using mouse traps try using peanuts.....and secondly we were told by a friend to put in the trailer side under protective cover those fabric fresheners that you put in the wash " Bounce "   can't say that I've seen any evidence of mice yet but it is still early days as we had to clear out the garage to store the TT and in doing so probably disturbed their homes . hiding places....

Ive tried the bounce as I found droppings in fold up chairs. Just put bounce sheets in the trailer and around the outside. Makes it smell nice too

I wish I knew. Apparently they only need the smallest gap. (if you can slide a coin in a gap a mouse can get in I've been told)

We were very lucky last winter because boxes in our garage were attacked but thankfully our FC wasn't. Mind I did find a pair of my old socks over wintered in there too :) I've heard the bounce thing works too.

Is this is a problem that occurs if you store your unit indoors rather than outdoors?

we store ours outside,, i clean it all inside with antibac wipes,

put 4 cheap gel air fresheners in it, then i covered over the top with polythene dust cover and taped it around the edges, all took 1/2 an hour, then put the cover on followed by a green tarp,

no probs with damp or mice,

next winter im gonna wrap around the cover with cling film  like they do with pallets of goods......

We had mice in our caravan. The way they got in was to go along the brake rod. Just at he front there is a plastic vent in the floor under the front panel. They reached up a chewed through it.

I stopped them by putting some aluminium mesh there instead of the plastic and never had them inside since.

Luckily they only chewed some soap and the end of the awning which goes in the channel.

We have just cleared our garage out ready for our new tt at the weekend.
When we cleared it the mice had been having a major party in there, chewing everything and pooing everywhere!
I am taking all the advice from the above posts to put them in to practice onour own tent, got the tumble drier sheets yesterday!

Let me know if you have any other tips! We already have two traps down but they seem to have evaded them totally, buying some more traps as I don't think we will ever manage to stop them getting in to garage, just want to stop them chowing down on the tt!!
