have you looked on places like ebay? I am sure there are some carmargues on there at the moment.  How much were they asking for the TT and if they are offering accessories with it may also reflect on the price.

£200 is a fair price for a Conway Camargue of that age and in reasonable condition. The canvas is the thing to watch out for...is it intact, or well mended, no mould and the zips all functioning? Does it have all its poles? (Springs and buttons can be replaced.) Does it have the cabin and roof liners?  At least one undertent?Kitchen in resonable order? Are the lights working? Does the trailer look in reasonable condition? Does it have a spare tyre?

Other extras which you may get if you're lucky include the awning extension, a sun canopy, table, seat backs, factory fitted brakes, a drawbar mounted carry box, a bike rack and side storage bars.

I've got an '89 model Camargue (see picture on my profile) and from memory it weighs about 450kg when loaded, so most cars would manage to tow it unless extremely tiny! it tows like it wasn't there, except when you go up hill of course. (WE tow with a Ford Mondeo 2.0 diesel estate.)

Here's a link to the original '85 brochure...

Hi,

I have just gone through the same process. Looked a lots of TT. Initially I was looking at early 90's and 80's tents with a budget of £400

In the end spent £600 on a 2003 Cabanon Galaxy. My rational is that a newer tent is not that much more than an old TT (relative to new price). The Tent itself is much more modern, the canvas and zips are likely to be in better condition. The worst thing would be to buy an Old TT and for it too leak and be a general nightmare in terms of parts missing or broken as that would put the family off completely

On Ebay recently, there are a couple of Cabanon Mistrals (c2001) and a Raclet (c2002). Conways definately command a premium on ebay
