We have decided to sell our trailer, and we havent even used it.I should have thought about the way my hubby is when things don`t go right, in other words loses his temper to quickly.

Going to look into buying a static caravan, cause he dont`t like towing.

Sell the TT and invest in some anger management therapy for him if he's that bad! You'll get more return for your money long-term when it comes to happy holidays then rather than him trying to duck the issue by you buying expensive equipment.

Seriously.....my OH used to throw his rattle out the pram every time I so much as dropped a peg while setting up. I told him to deal with it or frankly I'd be taking the kids on holiday without him,  because it spoiled everything for us all. I did too for most of one year. He dealt with it, so now he gets to come with us. I can't be bothered with grown men (or women) behaving like two year olds having temper tantrums. He's not perfect even now but he knows if he starts I'm having none of it.

OH temper when setting up is one of the reasons why I perfer to go solo with the kids.
When we were away last week it was apparently all my fault that we forgot the pegs.   It was teeming down when I was getting stuff out of the camping shed, and he wouldn't help because he would get wet.   Well I was fuming, dripping wet, and must have missed the bag of pegs.   Got to site, and realised that not only were there non in the trailer tent, but I hadn't packed the extras.   Normally the pegs are kept in the trailer - but last time we were out, we were on hard standing so couldn't peg except for a couple of the guys.    Now I had put the peg bag underneath the trailer with the main section (not used) poles etc.   He arrives on site a couple of days later, and does the BIG MAN and interfers with everything.   Now I know that I didn't leave them behind, so have no idea what happened them.     I also have a big bag of spare pegs, including some wooden ones, which I throw in the car everytime I go, it was these ones that I had missed.    Now had he helped pack the car, I'd have spotted the bag, and thrown it in the car.
Oh he did his bit, and packed his own bag - I'd packed for myself, two children, the towels, food, toiletries etc etc.
OH he towed - only because we need a trailer plate for my car, and it wasn't worth getting one until it had been through its MOT.
I even have a small tent for when I don't want to tow.   Too small for him, as he need his space.   No wonder the kids perfer it when it is just the three of us.

OMG! sorry thought Id got wrong site! We always argue putting up OUR camper, but thats part of the holiday. When you tow 90% of drivers towing are MEN!! 110%  passengers are WOMEN AND THEY ARE ASLEEP, So if we are sometimes grumpy after working hard all week, loading car, driving god knows how long, then having to put the "holiday home" up then thats life.

Sorry if you are offended but that is a fact of life that tired people are often short tempered and nasty. I always fight my miserable self with a strong drink and the fact that when our camper is up we are going to have a nice holiday.

Hi ya

I always put a bottle of wine in the fridge so that when the tent is up and the argument has resulted in no one talking to each other I can enjoy a drink in peace!!!!!

Alsparker,

We bought our Sunncamp from a couple in Runcorn (don't think it was you - they loved Western Dancing)- and we love it.  We bought it to go to the Landrover show at Billing (about 2 miles from home) and thought that was all we would use it for.  We have got the bug however, and this year we are going to a folk festival and camping over August bank holiday with my daughter and grandson who also love it.  Best couple of hundred quid we ever spent.!!

i`m a bit short tempered , but i found putting up a sunncamp 250 + awning  ( alone ) a doddle , the only thing that got my back-up was when  MR "you don`t want to do it like that " came around bothering me ......he`d only ever put up an army bell tent
