If the 2008 crusader's canvas is made by isabella now, who made the 2007 canvas does anyone know???????

Does anyone know the differences between the 2 apart from the 2007 having a heater and cd/mp3 as standard..............

I think the 2007 model beds pull out to erect the camper (best option) and the 2008 model uses the same system as the pathfinder where you have to unfold and erect from there.

Yes the 2007 version has the sliding bed mechanism, whereas the 2008 has the lift over gas strut thing. IMHO the sliding beds are better as the inside of the camper  is covered by the canvas all the time which is important when setting up or folding down in the wet. Have you found the Conway Owners website? It gives a lot of other technical details and info.

Yeah I have found that one thanks, I cant wait I pick up my crusader next week, but I want it now ...................... lol so the main difference is the bed thing then, I knew it had siding beds which is what made me choose over the pathfinder in the end but i really liked them both,  How heavy are they to move about?????

Both units are great but just to defend the pathfinder, they are a simpler design but less strain on the back to open up and the canvas takes seconds to cover the unit and even then theres no worry as I' ve never had the interior wet during setting up. I bought our camper in 2006 from Highbridge and was told that this was the easier option to open and fold and the beds are lower to get in and out. But at the end of the day I would have either unit.

We bought a 2007 cruiser new last year because it was cheaper than the pennine equivalent, but came with the same'kit' as standard. It has the sliding beds which we thing are super fantastic and fab But the new cruiser comes with the pennine style folding bed system and loads less equipment for only a few hundred quid less. By the time you add the extra equipment to the conway it is more expensive than the pennine, but with the same errection (!) method. So it seems to me (and our local main dealer) that the pennine group are killing off the conway cruiser and crusader But the pennine units are really nicely built, so it is not the end of the world. I just wish the sliding bed design was not dead - i think it is much more fancy than the folding bed idea. But then the hardtop was more fancy than the canvas top and that is in its grave too. Killed off by cheapo tin tops i suppose. Long live Conway. Long live Pennine. God save the folding camper!

I agree doit. I too bought a 2007 conway cruiser (this year) and I prefer the way the beds slide open compared to the new pennine model.

I have a 2008 Crusader and find the beds really easy to fold out and haven't got them wet so far.  When putting up, it's quick to pull the outer canvas over the top and when you are putting them away, you just need to fold over the edges of the canvas just before folding the beds in.

In terms of price, we compared the Pathfinder and Crusader and felt you would be paying around £300 extra for the Pathfinder for a fan heater and a built in CD player which we felt wasn't worth it.  Also preferred the interior colour of the Crusader.

But whatever you choose, you won't be disappointed.  We love our Crusader.
