I saw this side storage bracket for folding campers on the penrose website. Anybody seen these before. Not sure if I could lift my crusader onto its side for one of these.

Looks a good space saver , but i think it would be an idea for storing in the winter ,when not in use ,as you only put it on it's side and bring it down once a year It would take a number of people to put it there unless you have a block and tackle If stored outside it would need a winter cover over it, as in this posision it would not be waterproof.I don't think the trailer side was designed to take the weight, and could cause some damage, I think a better idea would be to stand it on it's tailboard ,then take the weight off it by suspending it somehow with a block and tackle from the towing bracket but seems a lot of trouble.

Yea Im just trying to imagine you trying to get your crusader on it side!!!!!!!!!!!! I know trailer tents can go on thier side but they are a lot smaller and lighter, rather you than me

It takes two men to turn a standard trailer tent, and tha'ts empty and with the kitchen removed. Good luck trying it with a FC....

(And remember, it may save space to store it this way but then you have to then find space to store all the bits and bobs you would have normally left inside the FC. Is it worth it??)

We were going to get these for our Cabanon Saturn, but they only saved us 10cm, so we didn't think it was worth the hassle of trying to turn the thing on to it's side!!!

A FC like the crusader is designed on a caravan type chassis with most of the weight in internal fittings, basically it's a convertable caravan. The side panels will not have been designed to take the weight/loads of storing on it's side. Best case is you won't be able to lift it and you waste the cost of the storage brackets. Worst case major repairs to the crusader or even a new one.

These are for trailer tents, that is a picture of a trailer tent, a Cabanon, they do not make folding campers. I would never do that to my folding camper, love it too much!!

There is actually one model of Conway FC that can be turned on it's side, but apparently it's a great deal smaller than the other models. There was a discussion about it on the Conway Owners Forum.

Having picked up my crusaderyesterday and seeing how big and heavy it is, I've realised this idea is a definite non-starter. Had to laugh at all your comments though. It felt like being told off at school!
