well, we entered the world of trailer tenters this weekend, purchased a fantastic cabanon galaxy from a guy on ebay, great seller, ebay at its best. Lovely guy who showed us everything he could given that we were in the M11 services on a very wet day. got it home and just had to have a look at it in between rain storms, looks really good, even came with all instructions so we going to have a go at the awning poles later so we dont look total newbies on site next week! ( that is if the gae we have been having blows over by then!)

anyone any tips or advice for living with a cabanon??

cheers

Congratulations on the successful purchase!  Am I right in thinking you've traded a caravan for a Cabanon?  If yes, what made you make the change?  I love my Jamet TT but my other half is hankering after the quick set up of a caravan.  I'm resisting the change!!

hi.we have just returned from our first trip with our cabanon galaxy, its a lovely trailer tent once up. our advice would be to take a pair of step ladders, we did found them very useful it took us about 2 hours to put up. hope you enjoy your holiday .

Yes, we went from a lovely abbey vogue 540 which we had for 18 months and sold just after christmas. We loved it but it did have a couple of major drawbacks..

storage-on front drive whereas tt goes snugly into the garage

diesal costs- had to have a specific towcar which was very thirsty, we can tow the galaxy with my little family car much more eco and wallet friendly.

also we found towing quite stressy, esp in high winds. If we had an unlimited wallet and werent too bothered about carbon footprints we would have kept the caravan, as it was it sat there for a while doing nothing and cost so much to tow when we did go away. We sold the big tow car and now make do with a smaller cheaper one.
