Had a bit of a disaster! Opened up the camper today and the centre roof pole snapped at the hole that the awning attaches to. I don't know how this happened, there doesn't seem to be any corrosion there. The questions are. Have i done anything wrong in closing the camper down or is the a common problem? and does anybody know where i can get a replacement??

Thanks in advance

Paul (the folding camper novice!)

" a common problem?"

Never heard of this before.

But the pole is a simple steel tube so it could be removed and welded,
or a bent tube slotted inside and then riveted in place with pop rivets and adhesive,
or replaced with an identical part from a breaker,
or you could have a tube bent to shape by a competent engineer or plumber.

1997. Bought it cheap with a few bits needed. Not bad condition but obviously well used. Had some sewing work completed on the canvas, waterproofed it and proved to be waterproof. The previous owners replaced the roof of the canvas themselves and put a couple of the pole loops in the wrong position. Annoying more than anything but i like things right!
