Hi all,

I've a 2000 Pathfinder, and its in great condition. Set it up today to make sure all is well but have a bit of a problem. I've set up the water supply with pump etc and the washroom hot and cold taps work fine. I.e, I turn on the taps, the pump starts up and the water flows. However when I turn on either the hot or cold kitchen tap the pump does not start and no water flows.

Does anyone have any ideas or have I missed something obvious  :(?

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks
Rich.

Try turning the taps on and off a few times as the switches in mine tend to stick,

failing that you will have to change the micro switches get them from a caravan shop or maybe off of ebay

Regards

Mark

Cheers for the quick reply. If it was a problem with the switches, would both the hot and cold tap stop working ?

Also, this may or may not be linked, the electronic flush of the Thetford toilet isn't working either ?

Thanks,

Rich.

Have you plugged the mini cigarette lighter in under the sink unit which supplies the electricity. Otherwise it might be a 12 volt fuse as the taps and flush run on 12 volt.

" Have you plugged the mini cigarette lighter in under the sink unit which supplies the electricity "

Sorry Jan,

What do you mean by this ? Is it literally a cigarette lighter type socket ? Would that not mean that the washroom taps would not be working either though ?

Sorry for what are probably really silly questions !

Rich.

If you have no leisure battery that may be the problem. No 12v supply - no action on the water flow lol. Plus as already said, if the supply to the sink is not connected or if it is and the tap micro switch is worn out, you will not get water flowing out of said tap. Trial and error should find the cause of your trouble....

The bathroom is permanently wired and watered but you have plug the kitchen sink water and electricity in. Ours is just like a small cigarette lighter .

With all your help I think I've managed to sort the problem. I pulled up the conduit in the washroom and tested the connections which appeared to be carrying 12v fine. Anyway took the connections apart put them back together and suddenly the flush was fine, so must have just been a dodgy connection.

Also at the same time the hot kitchen tap jumped into life, firing up the water pump. So I'm really pleased. The cold tap still does not start the pump but I'm beginning to think that maybe the are just a bit seized up so I'll take another look tomorrow.

Thanks a lot, this is a really friendly, helpful forum and I hope I can give something back soon !

Rich,

Have you got two taps on the sink in the kitchen ? We have a mixer tap with just one switch. In the bathroom we have had to take the top off the tap and replace the one micro switch.

Yeah, have a mixer tap in the kitchen, so should be one switch right ?

Strangely the hot side of the mixer tap starts the pump but the cold doesn't. I reckon it must be a fault with a switch.

Rich.

Have you definitely plugged the water in hard enough under the sink ?
